Pampa Energía implements a multi-media educational workshop targeted at schoolchildren attending General Basic Education, Levels 1 and 2 for the purpose of teaching them the meaning of energy and explaining to them the processes of electricity generation, transmission and distribution as well as the reasons why energy should be used rationally, how accidents should be prevented and how to care for the environment all in a fun and relaxed environment.
This activity is carried out in the communities of the four provinces that host the Company’s electricity generation facilities. In the year 2008, 7,188 kids attended the program and 37 schools were visited.
For 2009 the program was enhanced through an environment workshop to be supplemented by the existing energy workshop thus extending these programs for a further 7-month period, with the aim being to cover a major part of the school year. The special feature concerning this program is that it has a stable structure in the four provinces where Pampa Energía operates.
