There are 4,781 customers who have prepaid meters. Throughout the year they consumed 12.62 GWh, which stands for a 7.8% increase compared to 2007. Revenues from this source (plus tax) amounted to $ 1,307,864, which points to 5.2% growth.
Thanks to this system of demand self-management, households that do not rely on fixed income have lawful access to electricity as they can acquire it through prepayments of amounts as low as Peso One made at manual or automatic points of sales that are open all day long in places such as train stations or filling stations. This project is being carried out basically in Merlo, in the Province of Buenos Aires though there are approximately one hundred pre-paid meters installed in Escobar, also in the Province of Buenos Aires.
