ELECTRICITY VOUCHERS (‘VALE LUZ’) Volver

Another initiative to facilitate payment of bi-monthly invoices by residential customers who do not have a regular income is the so-called Electricity Voucher: these Peso One vouchers can be bought at groceries and supermarkets to cover the amounts due on the electricity bill either in whole or in part.
This has been an ongoing initiative in the Los Troncos neighborhood in Tigre, Province of Buenos Aires since August 2006. More than 380 customers voluntarily adhered to the system since its inception. During 2008 these customers acquired a total of 15,475 vouchers. Each of one of the vouchers carries an additional appeal - a “scratch-and-win” with various prizes, already delivered to their winners as follows: 131 double vouchers (the winners doubled the nominal amount in Pesos), 593 products for the home and 43 purchase orders for the stores that adhered to the system.
