This is an initiative consisting in a series of training sessions targeted at members of Voluntary Firefighter Brigades who work in the area covered by Edenor’s concession. This year marked the third year in a row for holding these sessions. The purpose sought is to improve firefighting actions in the event of electrical emergencies as well as the care for the victims in a manner such that firefighter involvement can be optimized and damages can be reduced to the minimum thus containing the costs associated to electricity-related injuries and damages sustained respectively by individuals and property.
These training sessions were held once a month throughout 2008 in order to check the contents taught in previous training sessions and to re-certify Firefighters in basic rescue squad techniques and maneuvers through the intervention of the Argentine Trauma Medicine and Surgery Society (Sociedad Argentina de Medicina y Cirugía del Trauma) and of the Argentine Heart Foundation (Fundación Cardiológica Argentina).
Approximately 100 firefighters have attended these refresher course sessions.
